The Los Angeles Dodgers are starting a second consecutive offseason of looking to retool their roster after a championship. There were a few glaring issues last season on the road to becoming baseball’s first back-to-back champions in a quarter century, and one of the biggest ones that seemed to hamper the Dodgers was outfield depth.
Offensively, the bats were quiet for most of the regular season aside from the emergence of Andy Pages, but defense had been an issue all around — and the inconsistent offense slowed them down at many points during the 2025 campaign.
USA Today insider Bob Nightengale recently linked All-Star left fielder Steven Kwan to the Dodgers by way of a potential trade, especially after LA went after him ahead of the trade deadline.

Kwan batted .272 with a career-high 56 RBIs last season. He notched not only his second All-Star selection, but was a Gold Glove award winner in left field. His defensive strengths and team control for the next three seasons make him an extremely valuable asset should a deal arise.
Kwan was one of the best in baseball in terms of his plate discipline as well as arm strength.
He ranked in the 100th percentile in terms of swing-and-miss rate, doing so just 8.7 percent of the time and furthering himself from an average MLB hitter. His strikeout percentage, also 8.7 percent, put him in the 99th percentile. Someone that can consistently get on base for a power-hitting team like the Dodgers can help to get extra runs and more scoring opportunities should his talents be taken to Dodger Stadium.
In terms of Outs Above Average, Kwan finished in the 90th percentile among MLB, with his Arm Value graded in the 100th percentile, per Baseball Savant. For an outfield with Teoscar Hernández at one corner, Kwan being plugged in could be extremely beneficial to upgrade the defense.

Just sign Harrison Bader for CF, move Pages to RF. Trade Teo if you can and move him to a platoon with Call in LF if you can’t trade him. .
