Dodgers Predicted to Win World Series, Three-Peat in 2026

The Los Angeles Dodgers have dominated baseball for the last decade, and a projection from ESPN expects them to do the same in the upcoming season.

ESPN estimates the Dodgers have a 22.2 percent chance to win the World Series, down from the 22.4 percent chance they had prior to the Winter Meetings. That total is more than double the chances of the next closest team: The Atlanta Braves with a 10.2 percent chance. Additionally, the Dodgers have a 95.3 percent chance of making the postseason, just as they have in each of the last 13 seasons.

“The Dodgers’ offseason has consisted of nabbing a new closer in Edwin Diaz in free agency and then working the edges,” ESPN’s Bradford Doolittle wrote. “Now you get the feeling they are sitting back, enjoying some fine cigars, coiled like a proverbial snake waiting to strike again when the time is right.

“As it stands, L.A. projects to have the No. 2 offense and the top pitching staff, both in the rotation and the bullpen.”

The Dodgers led the National League in wRC+ last season with a 113 mark, second in MLB only to the New York Yankees. Their elite pitching staff also managed the second most fWAR in MLB, falling just short of the Philadelphia Phillies.

Do the Dodgers Still Have Room to Improve in 2026?

LA is basically a shoe-in for the postseason, seeing as how they’ve qualified to play in October for the past 13 seasons, and their recent dominance and abundance of talent gives ESPN’s model plenty of reason to believe the Dodgers will reach the World Series once again.

While the Dodgers have plenty of talent in their ranks, Doolittle believes the Dodgers still have room to improve.

“The Dodgers also have the oldest position player group in the majors and could stand to mix in a little youth and athleticism,” Doolittle wrote. “Both would be accomplished if Alex Freeland and Hyeseong Kim are ready to seize larger roles. Of course, they would also get a little younger and more athletic if they signed Kyle Tucker and found a taker for Teoscar Hernandez.”

The Dodgers landed Tucker on a four-year, $240 million deal, which has immediately bolstered their outfield heading into 2026.

It appears the Dodgers are setting themselves up to continue their streak of dominance for a long time to come.

  1. The 2026 Dodgers are a stronger team than last years world championship team . Diaz alone will add more wins instead of last years blown saves. Tucker is a major plus in the field and at bat.

    1. I agree, the Dodgers 2026 roster is better than last season’s. Completing the three-peat won’t be easy, though.
