Dodgers Prospect Diego Cartaya Crushes a Homerun Off Blake Snell
The Dodgers have a lot of talent coming up through their system. Over the next couple of years, fans will get the chance to see a lot of those guys get their chance. But one of them will almost certainly be Diego Cartaya.
The Dodgers’ top prospect is just 20-years-old and well on his way to the big leagues. This year, he has 6 homeruns in just 73 at-bats for Rancho, seemingly adding a lot of pop in the offseason. At this rate, he’s destined for the show very soon.
But this week, he got a pretty cool moment. Padres starter Blake Snell was pitching for Lake Elsinore in a rehab game. The Dodgers prospect got a pitch to hit and absolutely made him pay. Cartaya parked one deep into left for his 6th homer of the year.

It’s always good to perform, but especially against a big league pitcher. If the Dodger prospect can continue to hit like this as he rises through the system, he could be with the big league club very soon. Most predict that he will be ready by 2023. We’ll see if he can’t speed that up a little bit
