Dodgers Prospect Gavin Lux Speaks on Dustin May, Teammates in the Big Leagues

For the Dodgers, the time is now… it’s gonna May. Top pitching prospect Dustin May is getting called up to the show to make his debut tonight. Yesterday, we spoke with top infield prospect Gavin Lux about his thoughts on some of his teammates getting the call up to the show, and how they’re performing.

Gavin on his teammates Will Smith and Matt Beaty raking with the Dodgers in the big leagues.

Those guys are really good players. Obviously, you see what Will and Matt are doing — I think Matt is 7-14 pinch hitting coming off the bench right now, and Will is the clutchest hitter on earth right now. And he can catch and throw with anybody in baseball.

Just kind of seeing how the past two or three years being around them in spring — and being able to play with them a little bit this year for the first time — they’re great dudes, great players, and even better teammates. Seeing what they’re doing, I’m so pumped up for them.

On fellow 2016 draft pick, and close friend Dustin May making his debut, Lux was very excited for his buddy’s call up.

And Dustin making his debut Friday night… we roomed together in the AZL in 2016 and we’ve kind of taken every step together these past three years — I gave him a big ol’ hug yesterday. Man, I’m super pumped for him. He’s nasty, and I think if you haven’t seen that yet, it’s gonna be fun to watch that Friday Night.

He’s got probably just as good of stuff as anybody too. It’ll be fun.

The 6’6″ red-head right-hander will be making his debut at Dodger Stadium tonight. Lux shouldn’t be too far behind.
