Dodgers Prospects: LA Farm System Knows How To Produce Talent

The Los Angeles Dodgers are one of the best teams in the majors. They’re coming off a historic regular season that shattered records and will be set to defend their NL West title they’ve held in nine of the past ten seasons.

LA is primed to win a World Series title, and with how things look, they could be on the hunt for years to come.

The Boys in Blue have the best farm system in the entire league. Seven of their top prospects are on the Top 100 prospect list for the 2023 season, and they will be pillars of what the Dodgers will try to accomplish once they are ready for the big leagues.

The Athletics Keith Law says that the Dodgers have the best farm system by a mile.

“This system has it all — potential superstars and near-to-the-majors help, long-term plays with more upside …
There are six to ten more players in this system who didn’t make their top 20 but would have made the top 20 for at least 80 percent of the other teams in baseball.”

The Dodgers’ farm system starts with their best prospect, Diego Cartaya. Cartaya wasthe Dodgers’ international signee in 2018 and has the chance to be LA’s catcher for the remainder of the decade-plus.
Miguel Vargas is the number 23 prospect in the MLB, and Dodger fans are familiar with Vargas. The 23-year-old has seen some time in the majors and will be a regular fixture in the LA lineup this upcoming season.

And to round off, the well-known prospect is Bobby Miller. Miller is a righty with some severe heat with his four-seamer and has a slider with a sharp downward break that can fool the best of them. The 2020 first-round draft pick can potentially be the Dodgers’ ace for years to come.

Other Dodger prospects that could be cornerstones for the team are Gavin Stone, who was a fifth-round draft pick, Dalton Rushing, their first choice of the 2022 draft, and Andy Pages, another 2018 international signee whose arm strength has gotten better by year.

The Dodgers don’t rebuild, they reload, and we will get a chance to see some of their prospects in 2023.

  1. The one I am most excited about is Dalton Rushing. He is one the few that can actually hit for average and not strike out much.
They will have to change his position to get him more at bats.
