The Trevor Bauer saga is not over. Earlier this week, Bauer’s suspension was reduced to 194 games from 324 games. Bauer was reinstated from MLB’s restricted list on Friday.
The question now is, what is next for Trevor Bauer and the Los Angeles Dodgers?
Right now, that is the million-dollar question, along with many questions like: will he remain a Dodger? Will he be released? Will he be traded? We have a lot more questions than answers at the moment.
However, AM 570 radio personality Rob Parker believes he will not be back with the Boys in Blue.
“No way no how. He could get an opportunity to pitch somewhere else. Pittsburgh needs help. Tampa Bay. But it won’t be the Dodgers. and i just think that the Dodgers…that whole ship has sailed and it doesn’t mean that he doesn’t deserve another opportunity but you need a new place of business, a new place to start.”
Bauer was suspended on the grounds of sexual misconduct and has been on paid administrative leave since July 2, 2021. It was the story in the Dodgers’ first half of the 2021 season.
The 31-year-old denied the allegations and responded to his suspension on Twitter.
It left a bad taste in Dodger fans’ mouths and people within the organization. Parker says even his teammates were disgusted by the entire situation.
“We know the players, even his teammates, weren’t that cool with everything that went down. If you remember they scrubbed him from their social media, they unfollowed him. When reporters came to ask about him they said ‘we have no comment, there’s nothing we want to say.’ So when you have that, there’s no way he’s coming to LA.”
I highly doubt Bauer returns in Dodger blue. He will most likely be released by the Dodgers and get picked up by a contender who doesn’t mind the drama that would come with Trevor.
L.A. does need some pitching, but I don’t think that will happen.
