Dodgers Roster: Brusdar Graterol Goes to the Injured List With Arm Injury, Edwin Uceta Recalled

The Dodgers battle with injuries continues today in Milwaukee. They were able to bring back a bullpen arm in Mitch White but will be missing out on another with more aches and pains. This one was a little more of a surprise.

The Dodgers placed Brusdar Graterol on the 10-day injured list prior to Thursday night’s game. Graterol was listed with right forearm tightness as the reason for his resignation. While that’s generally not a good sign with hard-throwing guys, there is no new information on the injury as of now.

Graterol had a rough start to the year after missing out on most of the Cactus League games. In 3 appearances, he was charged with 3 earned runs and struck out just 1. He also walked a pair of batters and goes on the IL with a 20.25 ERA.

In a corresponding move, the Dodgers recalled Edwin Uceta from the practice squad. The right-hander will head out to the bullpen to help out with the relief team for this series. Uceta has not played past Double-A at the professional level but has spent a lot of time in the alternate sites over the last 2 seasons.

The Dodgers planned on throwing a bullpen game on Friday evening in Milwaukee. The hope is that they will not need to burn too many arms with Trevor Bauer throwing tonight against the Brewers.

  1. Is there something wrong with the medical and training department getting the guys ready and prepared? I sure hope not for a top-end organization. Cody’s injury is unfortunate but it seems like there’s a lot of soft tissue injuries among the players. The IL list looks almost like a NFL team.
