Dodgers Roster News: Justin Bruihl Re-Called, David Price Out With Personal Matter

The Dodgers and Padres will kick off a 4-game series tonight in Los Angeles. Mitch White will get the ball and go up against potential Cy Young candidate Joe Musgrove. It’s sure to be a thrilling series with just a game and a half separating the 2 teams in the National League West.

But before that can happen, the Dodgers are making a few moves. That includes adding in left-handed hurler Justin Bruihl before the game. Bruihl will help supplement a bullpen that has seen plenty of work over the last week, and getting a fresh arm in there could be huge for Dave Roberts.

That move was made after David Price needed to step away from the team with what Doc called a family emergency. The Dodgers skipper also clarified that as far as he knew, everyone was alright. Price just needed to step away from the team and will likely be gone a few days.

Bruihl has pitched in 17 games for the Dodgers this season out of the bullpen. In that time, he has totaled a 3.86 ERA and struck out 10 batters in 16.1 innings of work. It’s a little bit of a down year in comparison to 2021, but he still has the stuff to get both sides of the plate out.

Price had appeared in 19 games this year and recently showed an uptick in velocity. He is expected to be away from the Dodgers for a few days.
