Dodgers Roster News: Wander Suero Called Up, Gavin Stone Optioned to Triple-A

The Los Angeles Dodgers have made a roster move ahead of their three-game series in San Diego. The Dodgers have optioned rookie RHP Gavin Stone back to Triple-A, and called up veteran RHP reliever Wander Suero in his place.

This move doesn’t come as a surprise at all, as Stone wasn’t scheduled to pitch this weekend against the Padres, and the Dodgers would prefer to have another arm in the bullpen and get one that has been lights out at Triple-A this season.

Suero has impressed over 10 games with Oklahoma City, posting a 1.68 ERA and .938 WHIP over 10.2 innings. The Dodgers signed the right-hander on a minor league free agent deal this winter with the hopes that he could return to his early career form.

As for Stone, he’ll head back to Triple-A for a few days, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see him back in a couple days to make a start against the Brewers. If he was smart, he would just stick around in Los Angeles, as I can’t imagine him being away from the team for very long.
