Dodgers Rumors: Aaron Judge Visiting with NL West Rival This Week

Aaron Judge is the top free agent on the market. No surprise after he hit an AL record 62 home runs in 2022. But he’ll most likely get the largest contract this offseason, and that just may come from one of the Dodgers’ NL West rivals.

The Giants have been pegged as a top landing spot for Judge, and a team that’ll make the biggest push to sign him. This week, they’ll get their chance at a pitch.

MLB Network’s Jon Morosi reported that Judge is currently in San Francisco, where he’ll meet with the team to discuss a potential deal.

A deal most likely won’t get done this week, but they’re getting the opportunity to give him a true pitch on why he should join their team. For Dodger fans who don’t want Judge in the division, this is definitely something to monitor. We know the Giants will offer him a ton of money, so if he likes it in the Bay, they could be a real threat to sign him.

Other rumors linked Judge to the Dodgers almost immediately following the club’s early exit from the postseason. Also, the incumbent team, the New York Yankees, will be in the mix on the All-Star slugger right up until he makes his final decision.

The winter meetings start on December 4th in San Diego and things are sure to get wild on the MLB hot stove.

  1. For the Dodger’s sake just hope Judge doesn’t sign with the Giants. Dodgers won’t have any counter response to that. And in 2019, the last time Yankees played Dodgers at Dodger Stadium for 3 games, Judge homered in all 3 games and Yankees took 2 of the 3.

  2. The managers will have a huge impact of where these players want to play. I’m sure with how New York State is being run, the big Apple is Not a preferrable place to live any longer. I don’t see the Vagiants having the team capable of putting Judge in the Playoff’s right away. So judge must decide what team will give him the best chance come Oct. With that being said, he’ll probably go to the Padres because of their roster strength and especially their manager…

    1. Hello there Kirk. In all likelihood Judge will return to the Yankees. No way Cashman & Stienbrenner let him walk that easily.

      1. Hope you’re right. Love to have him but the Dodgers have more important needs to address. Cost for a long term will be hard on the Dodgers.
