Dodgers Rumors: Dansby Swanson A ‘Possibility’ for LA

The Dodgers have had a quiet offseason thus far. Quiet may even be an understatement.

The Dodgers have added RHP Shelby Miller to a one-year deal and OF Jason Hayward to a minor league deal. That’s been about it.

The team has suffered a lot more loss than gain, and their roster should look very different come next season. However, there’s still plenty of time to make a move, and one MLB insider thinks the Dodgers could be in on one of the top players left on the market.

  1. I’d love to see Swanson playing SS for Dodgers, but think it’s more likely that it will be Lux

  2. Swanson and Willy Adames up the middle would be perfect. Especially now that the shift won’t be allowed. Trade the Milwaukee boy Lux and a prospect to brewers. Remember Lux makes way less money so they’ll make the trade. The dodgers will still be under the luxury tax if they do this.

  3. We’ve all seen the Dodgers play this game before where they were solid in most area’s at the end of another disappointing October. So they went cheap, raised ticket and parking prices, and tried to convince the 400 million fans that they had a strong farm system. They kept Seager -Belli-Smith-Joc etc and said they weren’t trading them. The plan somewhat worked because Ned Coletti was a excellent GM that could build a team. Neds gone, Only Smith was actually kept and here we go again. Another 32 year drought…..

  4. Julio Iglesias might be more in AFs price and year range. Could probably get him for 2 years/$12-14M. Maybe add a team option for a 3rd year.

    1. If Julio Iglesias signs on, will singing be in his contract…or is that extra?

        1. Is Iglesias really better than Lux at short? … seems like a defense first guy. If we want defense first at short, Jacob Amaya can provide that. You can make the same argument for plugging Kiermaier into CF or Heyward in left. That said, low performing experienced players alway seem to get the nod.

  7. Another misleading headline….However, SS is a D position, hitting second….great glove, good bat…if we didn’t have the Trevor factor, we would/should be a player on the player (cause I hear he doesn’t play around)…Ok Happy Holidays to my fellow Dodger Fans…

  8. Noooo listen to doig mckain. Bro we do not need a Cesar izturis. Gavin covers us. Ca mon guys doug knows whats up ??

  9. Maybe the Padres will sign him for 10 years. They only have 3 shortstops so far.

  10. I really don’t believe that the Dodgers are going to pick up ANYONE at this point, they were linked to every big time free agent and did NOTHING!!!
Time is running out on the Dodgers,…. They missed the boat! They’re just going to have to play with what they already have,… oh , add the two major signings of Jason Hayward And Shelby Miller. Way to go Friedman!
