Dodgers Rumors: Expert ‘Firmly Believes’ Clayton Kershaw Re-Signs with LA

The Dodgers have some major questions to answer heading into the 2023 season, particularly the availability of some of their best players from the 2022 season. Among those names includes Clayton Kershaw who has contemplated retirement, but am expert believes Kershaw will be back for another season.

When Kershaw decides to finally call it an end to his career, he will go down as one of Dodgers fans favorite players and one of the greatest pitchers of our generation. Kershaw is coming off a season where he earned his ninth All-Star nod while pitching a 2.28 ERA with 12-3 record in 22 games.

Kershaw looks to still have plenty in the tank and the skills along with Andrew Friedman being vocal of being happy to bring Kershaw back is all David Vassegh needs as evidence to re-sign Kershaw (quotes via AM570 LA Sports).

“I firmly believe he’ll be back with the Dodgers next season. I’m not sure how, whether he accepts a qualifying offer or the dodgers coming to a one year agreement with him. That’s the way he wants to play the remainder of his career, one year deals, and I don’t see him pitching for the Texas Rangers I believe he’ll be back with the Dodgers.”

Kershaw brings added firepower to a pitching unit with injury struggles all season long. The Dodgers hitting stuck out the most during the postseason, but it didn’t make things easier with the Dodgers going through a flurry of rotations with pitchers dealing with injuries and having no set closer.
