Dodgers Rumors: MLB Insider Says Giants Will Pursue Trea Turner in Free Agency this Winter
The MLB playoff is full steam ahead but that won’t stop pundits from talking about next years free agency. Big players are set to hit the market with their futures remaining unknown and among the top talent brings Trea Turner and his future team.
It was speculated that although Turner wouldn’t mind staying with the Dodgers, he also would prefer going back to the east coast with the Phillies emerging as a top destination. Despite those rumors, the Giants have now emerged as a potential landing spot for Turner.
The Giants are looking to break the bank open and also have their eyes on Yankees star outfielder Aaron Judge who is expected to be paid big money this off-season (via Bob Nightengale, USA Today).
“The San Francisco Giants will pursue not only Yankees star Aaron Judge in free agency, but also Dodgers All-Star shortstop Trea Turner,” Nightengale wrote. “If the Yankees won’t pay the $300 million Judge wants, he could wind up in San Francisco – just two hours away from his hometown.”
This further throws a wrench in things with Turner’s future with the Dodgers becoming more of a question mark. Will the Dodgers do what it takes to bring back the star shortstop or will they need to find a replacement soon?
Will Turner stay with the Dodgers for at least another season after the short-lived post-season run? Or does he feel like he’s already done what was needed for his career and will look to make the most money possible?
It would be hard to imagine turning down $250+ million.

Dodgers: Freddie Freeman Feels Season is a Failure Without Winning a Title
Trea will sign with the Phillies. Judge will sign with the Dodgers.
The problem for anyone interested in Judge is you will be overpaying because he will never equal this past season. The Yankees will be facing a fan revolt if they don’t sign him.
He’s a great player and seems like a likeable guy. The Dodgers would welcome him with open arms, just like they did with Freddie.
Giants are Blowing Smoke,
We all know they’ll be looking for value in the third tier of Free Agency.
Doesn’t matter what some pundit claims to know… Turner has said this whole year that if he does not return to the Dodgers he would prefer to return to the East Coast. I think the Braves or Phillies would have a 99.9% better chance than the Giants…
