Dodgers Schedule: June Matchup Against Astros Flexed to Sunday Night Baseball

Moments before the Dodgers got set to play the New York Yankees on Sunday Night Baseball, it was announced that they will be playing another American League foe on the national broadcast later this month.

The Dodgers will be broadcasted on ESPN on June 25 when the Houston Astros come to Chavez Ravine. It will be the third time this season the Dodgers will be playing Sunday Night Baseball.

In the two games they have played so far on Sunday night, the Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres and lost to the New York Yankees.

“ESPN says that Astros-Dodgers at Dodger Stadium on June 25 will now be a Sunday Night Baseball game.”

This will be the the fourth time the Astros come to Dodger Stadium since the two teams met in the 2017 World Series. Houston has won four out of the seven games that have been played.

When it was revealed that the Astros were stealing signs by banging on trash cans in the dugout to let batters know what pitch is coming, crowds have been known to be rowdier than usual whenever Houston is in town.

In previous years, fans have booed players who were on the World Series winning team such as Alex Bregman and Jose Altuve. Other antics the Dodgers fans have pulled in previous series is wearing T-shirts insulting the Astros and even throwing an inflatable trash can throughout the stadium.

The only players who were on the Dodgers for that World Series run and are still currently with the team are Clayton Kershaw, Austin Barnes and Chris Taylor. Back in 2020, Kershaw mentioned how much the cheating scandal bothered him when he first found out.

“I’m sick of people saying that everybody was the same, that everybody was doing it. No. We weren’t all doing that. That was separated from everybody else.”

Going into this month’s series with the Astros, the Dodgers will be looking to get some revenge for the unfortunate events of 2017.
