Dodgers Score: Live Game Updates vs Yankees on Friday, Kershaw Day, David Peralta Out of Lineup
The Dodgers kick off a huge series with the New York Yankees tonight at Dodger Stadium. For game one, fans are getting a good one with ace Clayton Kershaw (6-4, 3.32 ERA) on the mound for LA against Luis Severino (0-0, 1.59). The boys in blue are coming off an 18-10 month of May that saw them score 173 runs and stay in first place in the NL West from wire to wire. But, as we head into June, the Arizona Diamondbacks are hot on their tail.
Coming off Thursday’s day off, the lineup is well rested and looks like this.

The top five of the lineup is as normal. Then, Jason Heyward is in the lineup over David Peralta, which is pretty much the only real thing that stands out. Miguel Rojas is playing at shortstop over Chris Taylor, but that’s been the usual as of late.

Pitching Matchup
Clayton Kershaw looks to put a rough May behind him (1-3, 5.55 ERA in 5 starts). He faces the Yankees for only the fifth time in his career but has had success in the past with a 1.67 ERA over 27 innings. A fun little note: The Yankees are one of just three teams that Kersh does not have a win against. He’s 0-1 vs New York and has never faced the Baltimore Orioles or Boston Red Sox (in the regular season).
Luis Severino is making only his third start of the season after missing most of the first two months with a lat strain. When healthy, he’s been a quality major league starter over his career with New York. He’s faced the Dodgers once in his career, throwing 2 scoreless innings of relief back in 2016.
