Despite a slow first three games in the series, Ohtani made his mark in the NLCS, sending LA back to the World Series for the second consecutive season.

This is Ohtani’s first postseason MVP award, as Tommy Edman won the NLCS MVP last year and Freddie Freeman took home World Series honors. Ohtani couldn’t have been more deserving after single-handedly willing LA to a Game 4 win and sweep.

Overall, Ohtani went 5-for-14 (.357) in the NLCS with three home runs and four runs batted in. As a pitcher, he got a pitching win with his six shutout innings and 10 strikeouts.
