Dodgers Shuffle Bullpen Ahead of Series Opener Against Reds
The Los Angeles Dodgers are continuing to do the “Bullpen Shuffle.”
On Thursday, the Dodgers recalled left-handed pitcher Nick Ramirez and optioned right-handed pitcher Eduardo Salazar to Triple-A.
Salazar, 26, was called up ahead of Wednesday’s game, where he pitched two innings, allowed one earned run with two strikeouts. He, along with Elieser Hernández, completed what was supposed to be a bullpen game all by themselves, allowing the rest of the Dodgers’ pen to get a day off before kicking off a four-game series with the Cincinnati Reds.
Ramirez, 34, returns to Los Angeles after dominating in mid-to-late April. The southpaw made five appearances, allowing just one earned run across seven innings for a 1.29 ERA.
The Dodgers acquired Ramirez from the New York Yankees in early April for cash considerations after he was designated for assignment.
