Dodgers Spring Training: Camelback Ranch Welcomes New Attractions
While some organizations had their pitchers and catchers report for Spring Training on Wednesday, the Los Angeles Dodgers’ offseason didn’t come to an official end until Thursday as the first wave of players reported to Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Ariz.
On top of the Dodgers beginning preparation for the 2015 season with a new-look roster and front office, their home for the next six weeks has also undergone a makeover as the team announced new amenities and attractions on the Camelback Ranch grounds.
Among the new features added to the Major League practice fields are a Tommy Lasorda bobblehead, which is on loan from Chavez Ravine for the duration of Spring Training; a mini Dodger scoreboard that will welcome fans to the practice fields and All-Star panels that will line Legends Walk along the lake.
Also added to Legends Walk are three-foot baseballs honoring Dodgers who have won an MVP Award. As for the interior of the stadium, retired numbers hang above both bullpens; concession stands will now offer an 18-inch slice of pizza, bacon-on-a-stick, kabobs and frozen yogurt and merchandise will be available for purchase in the left field portion of the stadium.
