Dodgers Stars Do Their Best Clayton Kershaw Impressions and it is Hilarious

Clayton Kershaw got his first start of the season on Saturday night against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Dodger Stadium. In an effort to celebrate “Kershaw Day” in Los Angeles, the official MLB account on Twitter shared a gift of a video they’ve apparently been working on since the spring.

Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Tony Gonsolin and more showed off their best Clayton Kershaw windup impressions. The miming skills are mid-to-solid around the roster.

Let’s judge the cast a bit.

Tony Gonsolin looked like… he just kind of did his own delivery. No points.

Mookie’s was rough. It looked as uncomfortable to mime as it was to watch.

Miguel Rojas got the setup down to a tee. You can tell he’s paid enough attention over the years of playing behind him and facing him.

Julio Urias and Miguel Vargas… eh, there was an attempt. Points for trying.

And Freddie was solid but also lacked action.

The MLB Cut 4 account got in the action on Twitter with this vintage gem of a perfectly timing wave at Dodger Stadium.

The best version remains Clayton’s version, which is mowing down the Diamondback lineup. He recorded 7 strikeouts (and counting) on Saturday night, passing Hall of Fame right-hander Mike Mussina for 23rd on the all-time strikeout list.

He opened the season 3 wins away from 200 in his career, fourth amongst active pitchers.
