Dodgers: Still No Timetable For Joe Kelly and Pedro Baez
The Dodgers’ bullpen has been exceptionally good this year, and that’s despite injuries to some of their more reliable guys. Joe Kelly and Pedro Baez were both placed on the injured list this month with pains.
Speaking with Dodgers media on Sunday morning, Dave Roberts didn’t have much of an update on either of those guys. He described Pedro Baez as still being a ways away and had previously said the same about Joe Kelly over the last few days.
Injured reliever Pedro Baez is "a ways away," Roberts said.

Joe Kelly went to the IL with what was described as right shoulder inflammation, but he also faces a suspension when he returns. Kelly went to the IL on August 10th, retroactive to August 9th. Baez was placed on the 10-day IL with a right groin strain on August 20th.
Kelly was having a pretty good start to the season for the Dodgers. In 7 appearances, he pitched 6.1 innings and was not charged with a run. He also struck out batters at a lower rate than usual, but his walk-rate also skyrocketed. Baez had been experiencing a pretty drastic dip in velocity on his fastball resulting in a tough start to the season.
Dodgers Break All-Time Record For Most Homeruns in a Month
The silver lining here is the continued excellence of the Dodger bullpen with two important pitchers missing.
Floro, McGee, Ferguson, Jansen, Alexander, Kolarek, Graterol, Treinen with alternate site help of, Gonzalez, Sborz, White have combined to be one of the top bullpens in baseball.
