The Los Angeles Dodgers placed right fielder Teoscar Hernández on the 10-day injured list ahead of Tuesday’s game against the Miami Marlins
Hernández’s MRI results diagnosed him with a Grade 1 adductor strain. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Hernández will be sidelined for a while.

“Obviously, he’s going to be inactive for a while,” Roberts said Tuesday. “I don’t really know a timetable. I think that’s all contingent on when he starts back up again.”
“It’s certainly weeks,” Roberts added. “But I just don’t know how long. I don’t know.”
Roberts has a more positive update and concrete timeline on Wednesday, saying Hernández could be back in about two weeks.
Hernández exited the series opener at IoanDepot Park in the bottom of the third inning. Roberts said the two-time All-Star felt tightness in his adductor and hamstring after going for a ball in the outfield.
The Dodgers recalled outfielder James Outman to replace Hernández.
Hernández signed a one-year deal with the Dodgers in 2024. But after his standout performance during the season and World Series run, the Dodgers re-signed Hernández to a three-year, $66 million contract in January.
This season, Hernández is slashing .315/.333/.600 while logging a .933 OPS, nine home runs and 34 RBIs through 33 games. The 2024 NL Silver Slugger was hot at the plate before his injury, slashing .448/.467/.690 in his last seven games.
Hernández leads the team in hits, doubles, and runs batted in. He has also started in right field in 33 of Los Angeles’ 35 games this season before the injury.

Last nights loss was solely on the head of Roberts. When you have two of your top players out with injury you play the best of the remaining healthy players. You don’t give Betts a scheduled night off. Christ, in my day everyone wanted to play 154 and then 162 games. The only days off were when the team didn’t have a game. So we had a lineup last night where the top four in the order had 7 hits and the bottom five in the order had 1 hit. Wow! You just brought Outman up and he what, oh yea struck out 3 times. How many chances is he going to get. Reminds me of Vargas and Lux. What about the pitching in the 10th inning?
Any manager in the majors could win with the players the Dodgers can sign. Does Roberts look to lose games? Just asking! I’ve been a Dodger fan since the mid 1950’s. Never seen anything like this. Alston and Lasorda must be rolling over.
