Dodgers Think They’ve Turned a Corner, and It’s Showing on the Field

The Dodgers are hoping that their worst days are now officially behind them. After a rough stretch of games saw them losing 15 of 20, Los Angeles has picked up 3 consecutive wins.

It started with a comeback victory over the Mariners on Tuesday, thanks to Gavin Lux’s first homerun of the season. Since then, the Dodgers have put together a couple of all-around team wins.

Dave Roberts certainly thinks the team is playing well. The Dodgers manager talked after the on Friday about what the team is doing better. Doc also said he thinks this team is heading in the right direction.

We still have a good ball club. We had one a week ago but we’re just finding ways to win. Obviously offensively, we’re putting together some good at-bats and pushing runs across. And the defense has been tightened up. So, yeah, I’d like to think we’ve turned the corner.

Doc isn’t the only one feeling good about where the team is headed. Max Muncy has homered in 3 straight games, and the Dodgers first baseman has been a big part of the defensive success.

I think we’re just kind of getting back to ourselves. I always say one of the things we do great is just taking it one day at a time. And, I feel like when the losses started piling up, we weren’t doing that.

The Dodgers have put up 22 runs over their last 3 games. That’s huge, but there’s more to it than that. They’ve also moved over runners when it mattered, and locked down their defense. Both of those things were hurting big time during the losing streak.

This is a very good ball club, and there is no reason they should go through a stretch like they did. But with Dodgers players getting healthy and the pieces coming together, they should be able to keep up this sort of play on the field.
