Dodgers to Sign Shortstop Darol Garcia, Dominican International Free Agent

The Dodgers have reportedly agreed to terms with Dominican shortstop Darol Garcia.

Early reports have the signing bonus for Garcia posted at $200,000 USD.

Here is video of Garcia:

Garcia is the only non-Venezuelan international free agent the Dodgers have signed up to this point.

The Dodgers have long been interested in Garcia and Dodgers Nation wrote about it here:

Dodgers to Sign Pair of International Prospects

Both Cardozo and Garcia were mentioned and both have reportedly agreed to terms with the Dodgers.

Garcia is a shortstop without a lot of attention as far as we can see, but the fact that the Dodgers have had a lot of interest and demonstrated that interest a lot over the last few months means a very good front office envisions a bright future for the young Dominican shortstop.
