Dodgers played well on the Road with excellent pitching. 4 Starters earned their keep and has allowed the bullpen to rest, pay closer attention to how starters are performing against good teams. 2 games in Toronto should be a great way for Dodgers to Concentrate on fundamentals, defense and good at bats. Bunting should be a must as moving runners over puts pressure on the opponent and every run counts in a 7 game series. Dodgers do need to recognize ball rotation better and try to lay off pitches moving away. Walks can Win games. Overall Dodgers have a Unique Team that can be relentless if their at bats become more productive. If you have two strikes I personally would like to see choking up on bat handle and hitting to spots the defense isn’t. Especially if there are two outs. Choking up on handle of bat allows a more level swing and could lead to more singles, doubles which are the Heart of a Series. Too many times I see reaching out for outside pitches flailing and looking off balance. Choking up allows for holding up better as well and can eliminate base umpires called strikes or at least a better chance of holding up that swing. If Dodgers use the Basics to round out their game all other aspects of baseball during a Contest will Flow much smoother and produce. “Just Win Baby.”
162 games and Wild Card and 2 more opponents to get to World Series is exhausting to say the least. You as a Player must take yourself back to When Baseball was a Game such as Little League and Nobody was Paid to play. Innocent enjoyment of the Game and Fundamentals Practiced made for Winning or Losing a Lifelong Life Experience.
I hate MLB. I hate them so much. Not the sport of Baseball, not the teams, well, maybe the Giants (just kidding, mostly) but the governing business of MLB inc. Seleg, Manfred, the greedy CEO’s of the game who probably have an orthopedist on staff for when they dislocate their shoulder from patting themselves on the back for doing such a great job. Who probably don’t know what the infield fly rule even is, unless it costs them money. It’s a game, it’s a sport, it’s supposed to be, or was, an event TV covered. Will in the future it be decided in advance like pro Wrestling? Somehow now it feels more like an event staged for TV. 3 days off for the Jays, a week for the D’s and if it goes a full 7 games it will finish November 1st. Used to be over in the beginning of October. Except the season starts a week or more earlier than it used to.
I get it’s a business and they’re trying to make money, and don’t have a problem with that, but that doesn’t mean you have to rub my nose in it while saying, bad fan, bad fan, while smacking me with a newspaper.
OK, after that rant I love the game and am hoping the Dodgers sweep! First month of the season and in the playoffs they looked great. In between? Not so much. Got my fingers crossed, go Dodgers!
