Dodgers vs Cardinals Delayed on Friday: When Will Game Start?
The Los Angeles Dodgers’ series opener against the St. Louis Cardinals has been delayed due to rainy weather.
The start time for the contest is to be determined. First pitch was originally set for 5:15 p.m. PT/8:15 p.m. ET.
The Dodgers’ batting practice was interrupted by the rain at Busch Stadium, and since then, the tarp has been placed on the field.
Friday’s contest marks the start of a six-game road trip for the Dodgers, a team that is in the midst of a grueling June schedule. The defending champions opened the month by facing off with the New York Yankees in a Fall Classic rematch.
While the Dodgers managed to take two of three games against the Bronx Bombers, L.A. was tasked with facing the National League powerhouse New York Mets next. The Dodgers managed to split the series and are coming off a wild 6-5 comeback win over the Mets Thursday.
In the coming days, the Dodgers will compete against a red-hot Cardinals team and the division rival San Diego Padres.
For now, though, they await the rain before getting this road trip started.
