Dodgers Vs Cubs Recap: Offense Responds To Early Deficit

In the top of the seventh, Ramirez and Carl Crawford both singled. Uribe hit one right to the second baseman, but he couldn’t make a play and a run scored to make it 4-2. A single by Andre Ethier and a run-scoring groundout from Justin Turner tied the game at four. Gordon followed with a double then Puig lined a single to put the Dodgers up 6-4. Gonzalez would fly out to end the inning.



Pedro Baez came in for the bottom of the inning. He worked around a pair of singles and ended the inning with a strikeout on a 96 MPH fastball. The Dodgers loaded the bases in the eighth and picked up another run on a walk from Drew Butera. Brian Wilson was called on to protect the 7-4 lead and he threw a perfect inning to do so.

A hit and an error gave Kemp the opportunity to make it 8-4 with a sacrifice fly in the ninth. Kenley Jansen came in to close things out for the Dodgers in the bottom of the ninth. Jansen struck out two to give Los Angeles the victory.
