Dodgers vs Diamondbacks: Lineups, Pregame Matchups, and More for September 14

The Dodgers have officially clinched the division title with a win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday and will look to continue their momentum finishing out the rest of the season. Clayton Kershaw delivered a signature clinching game going seven scoreless innings with five strikeouts. Can the Dodgers keep up their high level of play?

Making the start for the Dodgers today goes to RHP Michael Grove who is set to make his third start in his fourth game of the season. In Grove’s last start against the Marlins, Grove went 4.2 innings giving up two earned runs and five hits with four strikeouts in a 3-2 no decision win.

Zach Davies draws the start for the Diamondbacks entering with a 4.09 ERA. Davis last faced the Dodgers in April going 5.1 innings with four hits and three earned runs with five strikeouts in a 3-1 loss. Will Smith recorded the lone home run of the game off Davies.

As expected after clinching the division, the Dodgers give their star players a rest with most notably Freddie Freeman getting his first day off the entire season. Trea Turner misses his second game of the season. Mookie Betts and Justin Turner also out of the lineup.

The Dodgers look to close out the sweep against the Diamondbacks for the third time this season. With how it’s been looking, there’s no sign of them slowing down as they continue their dominance and remain the top team in the league.

  1. Too bad Kimbrel did his usual number of blowing the save and losing the game. As soon as I saw him take the mound, I knew it was a Dodger loss. I hope the team doesn’t retain him after the season.
