Dodgers vs. Mets: Chris Taylor Batting Cleanup, Austin Wynns Starting, Full Lineup, How to Watch and More

The Dodgers are coming off a series loss to Cody Bellinger and the Chicago Cubs, and are welcoming the New York Mets into town for another three-game set. The Dodgers offense mustered just six runs across the three games versus Chicago, and will look for more consistency against the Mets, even without Will Smith in the lineup.

On the mound for the Dodgers in Monday’s series opener is Dustin May, who’s off to an incredible start this 2023 season. Through three starts, May has an incredible 1.47 ERA and 0.76 WHIP. He’s also yet to allow a home run.

For the Mets, LHP David Peterson is taking the mound. This year, he’s 0-2 with a 4.91 ERA, and has walked eight batters in 14.2 innings. He’s been solid against lefties, but righties have had his number early in 2023. In 48 plate appearances, righties are slashing .372/.426./581 against him. Because of that, here’s the righty-heavy lineup the Dodgers are sending out to face Peterson:

This is definitely quite the interesting lineup. Chris Taylor is batting cleanup, despite his struggles at the plate. Austin Wynns is making his Dodgers debut, while James Outman, who Dave Roberts said would not be platooning, is clearly in a platoon.

The Dodgers are currently 8-8, while the Mets sit at 10-6. The Mets have won four straight games, and have won three straight series against the Miami Marlins, San Diego Padres and Oakland Athletics.

First pitch for Monday’s game is at 7:10 p.m. PT. You can watch it on Spectrum SportsNet LA, or listen to it on AM570 radio.

  1. Anyone really want to watch ..watch how dismal the Dodgers are…. are see Roberts screw things up yet again

  2. Taylor in cleanup spot? NO!
Outman on platoon? NO! During the broadcast the announcers said that Outman had gotten on base something like 9 out of 12 times this season against lefties. So, sit him against lefties? NO! So, when he’s called on to come in against a lefty last night in the 8th inning, what did he do? Ripped a double. Come on, Roberts! Get your head out of the dirt and start paying attention!
