Dodgers vs Padres: Lineups, Pregame Matchups, How to Watch and More for October 12

A close yet decisive game one win against the Padres give the Dodgers the 1-0 lead in the best of five series. The Dodgers will look to keep the momentum going into game two but now face a tall task at hand.

The Dodgers showed their bullpen rotation and allowed Chris Martin to man the final inning. Martin prevailed for his first career save, but who will serve as the closer today for the Dodgers?

While the question remains, baseball fans will get to witness a showdown of pitchers as the three-time Cy Young Award winner and nine time All-Star Clayton Kershaw draws the start against the five time All-Star and former Dodgers pitcher Yu Darvish. A clash of titans as the Padres are nearing must-win territory against the strongest team in baseball.

In two appearances against the Padres this season, Kershaw went 1-0 with a 0.75 ERA and 11 strikeouts. Darvish on the other hand was not greeted with the same luck as he had a 1-2 record with a 2.52 ERA in four appearances but still racked up 31 strikeouts.

Both will look to carry their teams respectively in what will surely be a spectacle to see. Could this be Kershaw’s last postseason pitch?

As far as the lineup goes, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

The Dodgers remain the same in all facets as the Dodgers look to capitalize on their five runs scored. Trea Turner and Will Smith led the way with two hits and one RBI apiece as Turner rocked Dodgers Stadium with a quick home run in the first inning.

The first pitch will be at 5:37 PM and can be watched on FS1. Radio broadcast will also be available on AM570, KTNQ and ESPN Radio as the Dodgers look to blow the doors open and take the commanding 2-0 series lead.
