PAGES: 1 | 2

A.J. Ellis and Haren combined for singles in the fifth inning with no outs, but the Dodgers again were done in by a double play and failed to score a run in the inning. Third time was the charm for the Dodgers in the sixth as they finally managed to cash in on leadoff singles.

Metzek’s wild pitch allowed both Kemp and Van Slyke to move into scoring position and Turner drove them in with a double to center. Uribe followed with a double of his own, but Turner had to wait for it to drop before breaking for third.

As a result of the late jump, Turner was thrown out at home in a play that was held up after review. Dee Gordon’s infield single loaded the bases with two outs and Tommy Kahnle on the mound. Kahnle went to a full count against Puig before getting him looking to end the inning and the Dodgers trailed 5-2. Justin Turner

Brandon League intentionally walked a batter to load the bases with one out in the bottom of the sixth and it was a decision that backfired on the Dodgers. Charlie Culberson hit a slow roller up the first base line that League fielded and hit Culberson in the back with his underhanded toss to first base.

Two runs scored on the play and the Dodgers trailed 7-2 at the end of six innings. On the day he was activated, Daniel Coulombe made his MLB debut pitched a 1-2-3 inning in the seventh. Turner attempted to ignite the Dodgers offense with a leadoff double in the eighth, which was his third hit on the night.

Adam Ottavino then retired the next three batters he faced and Turner was the Dodgers’ 11th man stranded. Dickerson tripled in two more runs in the bottom of the eighth off Jamey Wright to give the Rockies a 9-2 lead. Yimi Garcia relieved Wright and promptly allowed an RBI single to McKenry.

LaTroy Hawkins came on in the ninth and gave up a two-run home to Puig before he could close the game out and the Dodgers fell, 10-4.
