Dodgers: Walker Buehler Headed to the Injured List

The Dodgers are set to play a doubleheader today, and Walker Buehler was one of the guys set to make a start. That will not be happening though as Buehler has been placed on the injured list by the team ahead of the two games.

Buehler was placed on the injured list with what is being described as a blister. He goes immediately to the 10-day IL as a result. The Dodgers recalled RHP Mitchell White in a corresponding move.

Buehler had been struggling a little bit to get things going this season after a slow start to the year. His most recent outing against the Rockies proved encouraging though, as he went six innings and gave up just one earned run. The Dodgers went on to win that game 5-1.

Mitchell White joins the Dodgers roster for the second time this season after being placed on the 40-man roster in November. White did not appear in a game in his last stint with the club and his next game will be his big league debut. He did make appearances during Summer Camp and impressed the coaching staff in the process.

  1. Blister. Darn things are a pain! If he makes it through 20 years he will have a callous so thick he will have to use a grinder to keep it under control.

  2. The way the playoffs are structured makes it almost mandatory to have an elite 3-man rotation to avoid getting knocked out in the first round. Give Walker time to be at his best for the playoffs.
