It was later determined the No. 6 seed would be the Cincinnati Reds, after the New York Mets were shutout by the Miami Marlins on the final day of the regular season.

First pitch for the Game 2 of the Wild Card Series between the Dodgers and the Reds is at 6:08 p.m. PT on ESPN. Both games will be played at Dodger Stadium.

On Sunday night, MLB announced the schedule for the third game of the Wild Card round (if necessary). Game 3, which would take place on Thursday, Oct. 2nd, is set to begin at 6:08 p.m. PT on ESPN.

The Dodgers did not secure a first round bye with the Milwaukee Brewers and Philadelphia Phillies locking in the first and second NL seed. Now, LA will have to square off with another NL team in a best-of-three Wild Card Series.

If the Dodgers advance, they are set to face the Phillies in the NL Division Series. While LA has the advantage in the Wild Card round, the short series could be problematic for any team.

The Dodgers will have to look their best next week, and it only gets harder if the defending champions reach the NLDS. Philadelphia boasts multiple left-handed pitchers, which is a tough matchup for the Dodgers lineup.

Nevertheless, the road through October is something the Dodgers are familiar with and their resilience will be tested in the coming days.

The Dodgers have won five of six regular season games against the Reds this season, including a three-game sweep at at Dodger Stadium in August.
