Dodgers: Will Smith’s Gift to the Fan Who Almost Lost His Cardboard Cutout
In the series against the Giants, the Dodgers’ Will Smith launched a homerun that tore up a cardboard cutout. So much so that it looked like the head of the fan’s cutout almost came completely off.
The fan, Austin Donley, laughed it off a little bit on Twitter and asked if he got to keep the ball. The Dodgers are not currently giving away the homerun balls that strike fans, so Will Smith stepped in. He commented on Donley’s post and told him that he would hook him up with a gift.
Sorry I took your head off ??? shoot me a dm and I’ll hook it up for you

Fans anxiously waited around to find out what the Dodgers catcher would gift the fan, and today we found out. Smith sent him over a bat that was signed by himself with a personal message included.
Huge thank you to @will_smith30 and the @Dodgers for hooking it up! Wouldn’t want to be hit in the cardboard face by anybody else ? #gododgers pic.twitter.com/91zS7AbqDi

That message read ‘Sorry I hit you in the face, go Dodgers?!’. In a season that has been so strange without spectators, it was nice to see players and fans connecting again. Thanks for the memory Will!
Next Up for the Dodgers
The Dodgers will play game two of their series against the Diamondbacks tonight in Phoenix. Tony Gonsolin gets the call up to make a start for the injured Alex Wood, while Arizona will throw young right-hander Zac Gallen.
