Dodgers: Yasiel Puig Signs With An NL East Team

Dodgers fans will always keep an eye out for one of their favorites. Yasiel Puig has long been on the radar of fans in Los Angeles, ever since he was traded to Cincinatti in the winter of 2018.

There were rumors all over Major League Baseball linking Puig to teams from coast to coast. While he was most recently linked to the Baltimore Orioles, Puig will instead land with another team in the east. It was reported on Tuesday that Puig will be headed to Atlanta to join the Braves

For the Braves, the move makes plenty of sense. They just lost veteran Nick Markakis to an opt-out after he decided it was best to sit this season out. Puig can fill in the gap left by him, especially in terms of hitting right-handed pitching. With the Dodgers, Puig was consistently a menace to righties.

The Braves do already have Ender Inciarte, Marcell Ozuna, Ronald Acuna, and Adam Duvall in a fairly stacked outfield.Puig would likely slot in as a role player more than anything, and likely will not get a whole lot of at-bats against southpaws. Regardless, it’s good to see him getting a job in the big leagues in 2020.
