Eric Davis & Darryl Strawberry Talk Dodgers, Red Sox Penalty Flop, 10k Fan Zoom Party, and More!
We’ve nearly made it through an April with no baseball, guys! Thankfully the Dodgers are doing what they can to keep everyone involved and entertained online. The era of video chat is fully upon up and the social media team is taking advantage.
Over the last few weeks, LA pitcher Ross Stripling has been hosting teammates on Instagram for episodes of “Live at the Sunset ”Strip.'” Of course, that’s going up on Instagram Live, so if you miss it, you miss out… so far. Perhaps something with the episodes could be in the works, (hint hint, wink wink, Dodgers).
Moreover, not to be outdone, the team announced plans for an exclusive Zoom Party to be hosted on Monday. The online event increased from 1,000 fans to 10,000 fans thanks to popular demand.
With everything (most things) now online, it’s offered some the opportunity to think outside the bun when it comes to content. In fact, AM 570 personality and Dodger Talk host David Vassegh ended up presenting a real treat to older fans as he welcomed former Dodgers teammates Eric Davis and Darryl Strawberry onto the show to chat about playing for the team they grew up rooting for.
The biggest news from the week came when MLB announced its findings and punishment in the Boston Red Sox cheating investigation. The short version is that a slap on the wrist is an understatement as the team found a fall guy to take the blame and lose his job.
Understandably, fans and players weren’t terribly happy with the results. Former Dodger Andre Ethier, in particular, lambasted commissioner Rob Manfred for his continued failings.

That was really special listening to them tell their stories that always kept them intertwined. Eric also had a message about the definition of “Swag” #DodgerTalk https://t.co/4ZlpBIQZCH
