Former Dodgers GM Ned Colletti has Been Hired by the San Jose Sharks

After being replaced by Andrew Friedman in 2014, Ned Colletti has been gracing the air waves on SportsNet LA, giving the fans insights from his years of experience as a general manager in Major League Baseball and helped with the ownership transition as a special advisor to Stan Kasten.

In a surprise announcement, the San Jose Sharks have decided to take an out of the box approach and hired Colletti to help with their front office.

The San Jose Sharks Doug Wilson has released a statement regarding the hiring of Ned Colletti:

Ned has an extensive background working in professional sports and talent evaluation and he will bring a fresh perspective to our organization’s evaluation process. This was a unique opportunity to add someone of Ned’s experience to our staff.

Despite never working in hockey, the Sharks are hoping that Colletti’s experience in the front office of professional sports can help them establish the infrastructure that led to his success in baseball.

Colletti has been recruited before as he was rumored to be part of the Diamondbacks’ and Orioles’ list of possible general manager candidates, but obviously, nothing ever materialized from those inquiries.

We wish Ned nothing but the best.
