Frank McCourt’s Dodger Stadium Gondola Project Hits Major Roadblock
The proposed gondola project at Dodger Stadium has hit a major roadblock, which could prevent it from being completed by the 2028 Olympics. The California Court of Appeals rejected the environmental impact report for the project from Frank McCourt, the previous Dodgers owner.

The gondola would run from Union Station to Dodger Stadium and cost between $385 million to $500 million to build, per Bill Shaikin of The Los Angeles Times. Fans have been promised free rides on the gondola for Dodgers games.
While the project has been in the works for quite some time, there are concerns surrounding the construction and various other factors. The Los Angeles Parks Alliance and The California Endowment have filed a lawsuit to prevent the gondola project from beginning.
“Our communities deserve a process that is transparent and thorough,” said Jon Christensen, spokesman for the Los Angeles Parks Alliance to The Los Angeles Times.
“We cannot allow billionaires like McCourt to usurp public resources, grab taxpayer-funded park space, and irreparably harm historic communities like Chinatown and Olvera Street.”
Zero Emissions Transit, the nonprofit spearheading the gondola project, said completing construction in time for the Olympics remains the goal.
“The few issues where the court ordered more work to be done are minor, technical matters, which is a common part of the process for important infrastructure projects,” Nathan Click, spokesman for Zero Emissions Transit, said. “These can be addressed quickly.
“It is clear that Angelenos want and deserve efficient, sustainable transit solutions — and the public support for the Dodger Stadium gondola reflects that.”
It could take as long as a year for McCourt’s project to get approved.

Do not allow this man to destroy the ambiance of LA’s Downtown, rail station and those who live in the community.
All this tram will do is transfer the traffic from Dodger Stadium to DTLA. What’s the point?
The parking ratio per car and acreage, at the stadium, is the same today as it was in 1962.
The parking lot needs better ‘orchestrating, if anything .
McCourt does not deserve the fans money.
