Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star first baseman Freddie Freeman spoke to reporters on Tuesday and provided an update on his ankle injury.
Freeman, who missed Games 4 and 6 of the National League Championship Series against the New York Mets, is confident he’ll be a “100 percent go” for the World Series, starting Friday night.

“Every day I can get off my feet, not running, treating this is huge,” Freeman said. “I’ve had three straight days of running, so every day is going to be better. Trying to do the best we can to get it to a spot where we’l be ready to go on Friday.”
While Freeman has struggled through the first weeks of the postseason, this extra four days off has been helpful in his recovery. Even if he’s not 100 percent, though, he made it clear he’s not going to miss these games.
“I don’t think there’s any question in anybody’s mind that I will be in the lineup for Game 1,” Freeman said.
Freeman went just 3-for-18 (.167) in the NLCS. He hit 4-for-14 (.286) in the NL Division Series against the San Diego Padres.
The hope for the Dodgers is the extra rest for Freeman gets him back to his All-Star self. Either way, though, it sounds like he’ll for sure be in the lineup for Friday night’s Game 1.
