Kiké Hernández has Sweet Message for Dodgers Fans After He Re-Signs

Newly re-signed utility player Kiké Hernández had a short and sweet message for Los Angeles Dodgers fans Thursday morning, though he also slyly blamed a top team executive for the wait.

“What up, Dodger fans? Plain and simple, I’m back. Again,” he said in a video posted to the team’s social media. “Sorry it took so long. That wasn’t up to me — Andrew — but yeah, there’s no place I would rather be than here. So, let’s go for three in a row.”

With that fake-whispered aside, Hernández was referencing president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman, who’s widely regarded as an architect of this ongoing dynasty and one of the best executives in sports.

Hernández Known for Big Plays, Bigger Personality

The joking comment and others like it are part of what has endeared Hernández to Dodger fans.

Hernández is returning for his 10th season as a Dodger, and he’s known not just for the three World Series titles he’s won, but also for his personality.

Expectations for Hernández in 2026

Hernández had offseason surgery on his elbow, and he’s expected to miss approximately the first month of the season.

That said, he will be back for the bulk of the regular season and is expected to add depth to the roster and contribute to the championship culture built during his tenure with the Dodgers.
