Miguel Rojas Reveals How 2020 Motivated Dodgers Teammates to Win 2024 World Series

Los Angeles Dodgers veteran shortstop Miguel Rojas discussed how the 2020 World Series motivated the current team to win it all in a conversation with Dodgers Nation’s Doug McKain.

“It was definitely a motivation for a lot of guys that were here when they won in 2020,” Rojas said. “I can tell you, I can’t address it enough how big this was for Kiké and for Will Smith and for Max Muncy and for Doc.

“I couldn’t really understand it, because I’m not part of 2020. I didn’t know how it is to win and not being able to bring it back home. That’s what it means when people say, ‘Bring the trophy back home, bring this championship back home.’”

Although the Dodgers won a ring in 2020, the city was unable to celebrate the players because of the COVID-19 pandemic. A few years later, the Dodgers were able to showcase their trophy to fans during their World Series parade at the start of November.

Rojas spoke highly of the Los Angeles fanbase supporting the Dodgers so faithfully throughout the season. Dodgers fans are known for traveling well for away games. When the Dodgers play the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field, there is typically a sea of blue in stands.

Additionally, when the Dodgers traveled to the east coast to face the New York Yankees in the regular season, fans took over the Bronx to support the team.

“Dodger fans, to my point of view and my perspective, are the best fans in the world because they really respectful to players,” Rojas said. “They’re gonna keep you accountable. They’re going to let you know when you’re not doing good, but at the same time, they always support. They’re always there for you, and they travel best of any fans that I have seen in baseball. And we always have to appreciate that.”
