MLB News: ‘Miracle’ in CBA Talks Needed to Save Opening Day
MLB’s deadline for the new CBA is today. If a deal can’t be reached, regular season games will be cancelled. The league and the MLBPA have met seven days in a row, but have failed to compromise on key topics.
ESPN’s Jesse Rogers thinks the best baseball fans need to reset their expectations in terms of when the MLB season will start.
So we're down to one day. Let's face it, it would take a mini — make that major — miracle to save Opening Day. Best to hope for is minimal time lost on the schedule.

Evan Drellich of The Athletic also isn’t very optimistic that a deal will get done today.
There was some sense of productivity today, but the gap on key issues remains large. Tomorrow on deadline day, they’re meeting earlier in the day than they had yet. Notable: no one suggested Sunday brought significant momentum, or a breakthrough. So, temper the urge to be excited

At the very least, it does sound like the competitive balance tax (CBT) was discussed on Sunday as the two sides actually tried to bargain.
As a technical note, there were no new formal proposals today from either side. But there was a lot of discussion: if we did X, could you do Y, and so forth.

In short, don’t expect a MLB Miracle Monday.
