  1. This is a really goofy article. Noah, it’s still pretty early into the second half, the dodgers imo are just starting to hit their stride, yesterdays game ultimately could’ve gone both ways, both teams fought, losing by 1 run isn’t the end of the world, the box line stats like the dodgers getting 10 walks and 10+ hits doesn’t actually mean anything because it’s just one game, if it were a regular occurrence then that’s something to worry about but overall it’s just 1 game. Besides the huge losing streak caused the dodgers to fall back but that was due to injuries, the brewers would be devastated if they had injuries like NY and LAD, their team is built on sand and just another one of those “really good but fell short” teams like the 2021 Giants, 2017 Guardians, 2023 Orioles, 2019 Twins, 2020 Athletics, ETC.

  2. 10 hits, 13 walks, 1 – 10 with RISP, bases loaded in both the 8th and the 9th and only scoring one run, for a total of 4 runs, is not really goofy, but pathetic. That neither Shohei nor Mookie could deliver in the 9th with one out is not good. The huge losing streak you refer to of 8 games, their longest since the 2017 season, is also not good. Getting swept at home 3 times (Angels, Astros, Brewers) and once on the road (Brewers) is a bad sign. And that 8 game losing streak is basically offset with their 8 game winning streak to start the season. And hopefully they turn the corner, but their bullpen can’t hold a lead or a tie just when the starting rotation is starting to get somewhat healthy.

And finally, since the midpoint of the season, LAD is a rather unimpressive 18 – 19. That’s a long enough stretch to be a concern with their mediocrity. That’s almost 1/4 of the entire season. If they don’t improve on that .486 winning percentage, that would be 90 wins – likely not enough to win the division and maybe not enough to even make the playoffs. They have a pretty weak schedule for those 44 games, so hopefully they get healthy at the right time and play like this team should be capable of. Sub .500 is not what they should aspire to, but lately, they have. And who cares about the other teams – this is an LAD site.

That they are the #3 in the power rankings based on this is a bad joke.
