MLB World Reacts to Juan Soto, Eric Hosmer Trade Drama

For the moment, the megadeal involving Juan Soto and the Padres is very much in limbo. All eyes in MLB are waiting to hear back on what will happen with the deal as the 2 National League teams are trying to figure out a way to make it official. 

But the big holdup right now appears to be revolving around Eric Hosmer. The trade would need to be approved by Hosmer, who reportedly has the Nationals on his no-trade list. That means that he very well could be the reason that this deal doesn’t happen.

Hosmer carries a lot of weight right now, and it’s sort of ironic. Padres fans have come to resent him for his megadeal that turned out to be a bust in San Diego.

That gained some respect from Dodgers fans, who really do not want to see this deal go down.

But others, like our very own Doug McKain, didn’t feel so great about it. After all, we did have a significant hangup with the Mookie Betts trade in 2020.
