Padres at Dodgers: Lineups, Pregame Matchup and More for September 3

The first of a six game homestand did not start off well for the Dodgers as they dropped the first of three against division rival San Diego Padres, 7-1 last night. LA was only able to put up 4 hits and scored their lone run in the bottom of the ninth thanks to a garbage time RBI by Joey Gallo.

Hopefully the next one is a little different as the Dodgers will have their ace on the mound this Saturday night in Julio Urias.

Urias pitched one of his best games of the season on Sunday against the Miami Marlins, allowing only one run on one hit and striking out 7 across a strong six innings.

He will look to repeat that success tonight against San Diego’s lineup and earn his 15th win of the season. Urias will go up against Padres lefty Sean Manaea who currently has a 4.90 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and has allowed 23 HR’s this season.

After getting a rest day last night, Trea Turner is back in the lineup! It felt weird not having Turner out there and the Dodgers definitely played like it. The three-headed monster is back at it, however, Mookie Betts will be playing second base tonight as Trayce Thompson will take his place in right field and bat in the 7 hole.

Dodgers top prospect Miguel Vargas is back in the big leagues and will make his first ever appearance in left field. Austin Barnes will be a catcher tonight while Will Smith is at DH.

Today marks the 132nd game of the season for LA. First pitch is scheduled at 7:10 PT. The Dodgers will look to grab their 91st win of the season and their first win since Tuesday.
