Preview: Dodgers Take On Giants For the First Time This Season

Perhaps one of the greatest rivalries in baseball history resumes tonight as the Los Angeles Dodgers take on the team from the north, the San Francisco Giants.
The Dodgers have been on a tear through the second week of baseball, as they have accumulated a seven-game winning streak, and have outscored their opponents 44-to-22 in those games. The defending National League West Champions have a record of 9-3.
The defending World Series Champions, however, cannot speak of such success this season as they enter this series with a record of 4-10. After winning two of their first three games, the Giants went on an eight-game losing streak before beating the Arizona Diamondbacks on April 18.
On the mound for the Dodgers and making his third start this season is Brett Anderson who is currently 1-0. The left hander has an ERA of 3.27 thus far, while striking out seven through 11 innings.
Starting for the Giants is the two-time Cy Young award winner, Tim Lincecum who holds a 9-7 record against the Dodgers in his career, with a 3.38 ERA. In two starts this season, the right hander is 0-1 with a 2.25 ERA, giving up just three runs in 12 innings.
The Dodgers are back to full strength for this game, as Yasiel Puig, Juan Uribe, and Carl Crawford all have returned to the starting lineup after being held out for a variety of reasons. Puig will try to stay hot at AT&T Park as he has a career batting average of .311 in San Francisco, with three doubles, four triples, and one home run.
Buster Posey will not be behind the plate tonight, as he will instead be playing first base.
