Do you remember Raul Mondesi? He was with the Dodgers from 1993 to 1999 before being traded to the Toronto Blue Jays. Mondesi was the National League Rookie of the Year in 1994 and his powerful bat caught the hearts of many fans in Los Angeles.
Well, it looks like he is headed to prison after serving as mayor of San Cristobal in the Dominican Republic from 2010 to 2016.
Mondesi has been sentenced to 8 years of prison time and a 60 million pesos fine for corruption in his tenure as San Cristobal mayor in DR.

According to ESPN.com, the prison sentence is for “corruption” and “mishandling of public funds” and the 60 million pesos ($1.26 million) fine is for defrauding more than $6 million during his time as mayor. He will also be prohibited from holding a public office in the Dominican Republic for the next 10 years.
During his time as a Dodger Mondesi had a .288 batting average and a total of 163 home runs, with his career-high being 33 in 1999.
He also had a cannon from right field, as you can see here:
