Recap: Brandon McCarthy Goes Less Than 4 Innings in 7-3 Loss To Rockies

The Dodgers started their 3-game series with the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday with a few new faces in the clubhouse! New Outfielder Josh Reddick got the start and new reliever Jesse Chavez made an appearance out of the bullpen! Unfortunately, Rich Hill was placed on the 15-day disabled list due to a blister on his finger.

Let’s take a look at the highlights!

The game was interrupted almost immediately thanks to a rain delay.

After the rain settled, the game would resume and be fairly slow up until the bottom of the 3rd when the Rockies would get on the board, making it 1-0.

They would come back in the bottom of the 4th, McCarthy would exit the game, and the Rockies would tack on 3 more.

Dodger bats would stay quiet. Unfortunately, the Rockies would not. They would add another 3 in the bottom of the 6th.

Finally the Dodgers offense would get something going thanks to a 2-run double by Justin Turner!

Then in the top of the 9th, Yasmani Grandal would continue his hot streak with a solo shot! This wouldn’t be enough, however, and the Dodgers would fall 7-3.

The Dodgers will look to even the score with the Rockies tomorrow at 5:10 PM PST. Be sure to follow us on Twitter at @DodgersNation to get the play by play! Go Blue!

  1. No excuses McCarthy.  You had a whole year off.  Dig down a little and earn those big bucks they are paying you.  Giants ace gets bombed and we can’t gain ground with our supposed #2 going for us?  You guys think you are doing your job if you give us 6 innings.  Check out Koufax and Drysdale stats sometime.
