Recap: Bud Norris Throws Out 8Ks in Dodgers’ 5-0 Win vs. Rockies | VIDEO
The Los Angeles Dodgers kick off their longest home stand before the All-Star break vs. the Colorado Rockies. Kershaw day has been canceled after he was injured and placed on a 15-day disabled list, so right-handed pitcher Bud Norris got the start.
The Dodgers also announced that Joc Pederson will be joining Kershaw on the disabled list after being diagnosed with a sprained right AC joint.

Bud Norris made his Dodgers debut on Friday and started off strong. Norris managed to strike out 5 batters that resulted in no runs for the Colorado Rockies in the first 3 innings.

Fans were impressed by Norris’ play on what would of been Kershaw day.

Norris strikes out Nolan Arenado for the second time, making it his 6th strike out of the game during the top of the 4th. Before ending the top of the 4th, Norris does it again and recorded his 7th strike out of the game. In the bottom of the 4th, Corey Seager hits a ground ball to center that placed him on first base and Chase Utley on third base.

Later in the 4th, Adrian Gonzalez made an RBI single bringing in Utley making the score Dodgers 1-0. It was a close call for Trayce Thompson’s as he hit a ground ball to shortstop and was called out after a review.

Bud Norris is done for the night after 6 innings. Pitcher, Adam Liberatore makes his way to the mound to start off the 7th and makes his first strike out. A pitcher change was made once again, and Louis Coleman was brought to the mound.
Bud Norris ties his season high with 8 Ks, which was set in his last start on June 26. He went 7 scoreless innings in that one.

At the 9th inning, Pedro Baez replaces Joe Blanton on the mound and strikes out two batters with one out left to be made. Daniel Descalso hits a ground to Chase Utley who throws it to Adrian Gonzalez and the third out is made. Dodgers win 5-0.
