Joc Pederson managed to draw a walk and was moved over to second base on Greinke’s sacrifice bunt. Pederson was stranded in scoring position as Peavy got Carl Crawford to roll a grounder over to first base on a full count.

Greinke fanned two of three batters faced in the bottom of the fifth to run his strikeout total to six on the night. Tomlinson robbed Seager of a leadoff single in the sixth, and Peavy proceeded to retire Gonzalez and Justin Turner on only a combined three pitches.

Palker drew a one-out walk in the bottom of the sixth, only to get picked off first base minutes later. Duffy also walked, but Greinke retired Posey to end the inning. Peavy set the Dodgers down in order in the seventh, giving him eight consecutive batters retired to that point.

Left-hander Josh Osich took over for Peavy in the eighth and faced a trio of right-handed pinch-hitters in Justin Ruggiano, Howie Kendrick and Scott Van Slyke, and retired all three. Chris Hatcher came on in relief of Greinke in the bottom of the eighth and promptly gave up a leadoff single to Brown.

Osich sacrificed Brown into scoring position with a bunt, where he was stranded as Hatcher struck out Pagan and Parker. Seager and Gonzalez combined for back-to-back singles in the ninth with no outs, which led to Santiago Casilla replacing Osich.

Ronald Torreyes pinch-ran for Gonzalez, and Turner’s sacrifice bunt moved both runners into scoring position with one out. Ethier’s RBI groundout tied the game before Casilla could get out of trouble. Posey lined a one-out double down the left field line off Juan Nicasio in the bottom of the ninth.

Nicasio intentionally walked Brandon Crawford, then induced Byrd into a groundout. Nicasio completed the high-wire act by getting Tomlinson to ground to first base. Grandal drew a leadoff walk in the 10th and was pinch-run for by Chris Heisey.

Kiké Hernandez’s base hit to left to put two on with one out for pinch-hitter Jimmy Rollins, who fouled out. The Giants went to Javier Lopez to face Seager with the go-ahead run on second base, and the left-handed reliever won the battle by striking out the rookie shortstop to end the inning.

After Nicasio walked Brown to lead off the bottom of the 10th, Kevin Frandsen dropped down a sacrifice bunt. Hernandez tracked down a liner in left-center field for the second out, and Luis Avilan retired Parker with one pitch to keep the game tied at 2-2 through 10 innings.

The Dodgers squandered a Scott Schebler leadoff single and Ethier one-out base hit in the 11th. Pedro Baez came on in the bottom half of the inning and promptly gave up a single to Duffy. Posey grounded into a force out and Baez was then replaced with J.P. Howell, who got Crawford to hit into an inning-ending 3-6-1 double play.

Ellis put a charge into one only for it to be caught at the warning track in center field. Hernandez kept the inning alive with a two-out base hit and Rollins nearly did the same with a bunt single, but Hunter Strickland fielded his position well to get the third out.

Yimi Garcia gave up consecutive singles with no outs in the bottom of the 12th, allowing the Giants to get the winning run on third base. Tomlinson took second base on defensive indifference and both runners were forced to hold on a Brown grounder to third base.

Adam Liberatore replaced Garcia and gave up a walk-off sacrifice fly to Alejandro De Aza as the Giants won, 3-2.
