Recap: Howie Kendrick Homers on Bobblehead Night In 9-3 Victory Over Phillies
The Dodgers went into the game on Tuesday a mere one game behind the Giants. The Giants vs. Marlins game had a start time of 4:10 PM PST, so a little after the first pitch was thrown at Dodger Stadium fans were well aware that a Dodger win meant first place. The boys in blue sent Kenta Maeda to the mound who entered the game with 10 wins and 7 losses.

The Dodgers wouldn’t let that lead last long because in the bottom of the second, the team would pick up 4 runs, the first coming from an RBI single from Joc Pederson!

It had been 12 years since a Dodger shortstop or third baseman had 20 homers. Now they have both. (Turner with 20 at 3B, one as a PH.)

The Dodgers have 10 home runs this week.

An 8-3 lead is extremely comfortable, but that wasn’t enough for Howie Kendrick. He made it 9-3 with a double in the bottom of the fifth!
